Rivers crisis: Jumbo emerges new Rivers assembly speaker

The lawmaker representing, Bonny Local Government Area State Constituency in the Rivers State House of Assembly, Rt Hon Oko Jumbo has emerged as the new speaker of the state assembly
Jumbo emerged as the speaker of the three-man assembly members loyal to Gov Sim Fubara, during its sitting in Port Harcourt, yesterday.
Jumbo’s emergence followed the resignation of Rt Hon Edion Ehie, now the Chief of Staff to the state government.
Gov Fubara is expected to acknowledge Jumbo as a recognised speaker.
