NNPP expels Kwankwaso

By kareem Islamiyat

The National Executive Committee(NEC) of the New Nigeria People’s Party (NNPP) has expelled Senator Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso after he refused to appear before the party’s Disciplinary Committee.

This was contained in a statement by the acting National Publicity Secretary of the party, Mr. Abdulsalam Abdulrasaq on September 1.

Recall that Kwankwaso, who was also the 2023 Presidential Candidate of NNPP, was suspended by the party’s leadership at the National Convention that took place on August 29.

The NEC, during the convention, had set up a Disciplinary Committee for Kwankwaso to defend himself against allegations of gross anti-party activities and mismanagement of party funds. The NEC also resolved to expel Kwankwaso if he refused to comply with the invitation.

Consequently, the NEC met in an emergency session and expelled Kwankwaso immediately for his refusal to appear before the committee. “Senator Rabiu Musa Kwakwanso would be reported to the appropriate quarters to answer questions on financial impropriety relating to the mismanagement of public funds,” he said.
